Get Your Culture On At The British Museum
Why do museums always get a bad rap among young people? It’s not all stuffy hallways and drab, marble busts of long-dead Roman warriors — there’s cool stuff, too! Not convinced? Alright, here’s 5 reasons to visit the British Museum and totally love it:

- Free Admission
This is literally a no strings attached, zero investment activity. London is known for its free access to some of the most prestigious museums in the world, yet is often taken for granted — don’t be that guy!
- Open Late On Fridays
Doors stay open till 8:30PM on Friday evenings, which means there’s still enough time to head out for drinks or partying afterwards, while still getting a hearty dose of art and culture. Daytime at the museum can be so overcrowded with tourists, it kinda loses its magic. Friday evening is a totally different vibe.
- Desire, Love, Identity
This display showcases the LGBTQ experience through various objects, art pieces, poems, etc. The exhibit endeavors to showcase the cultural diversity of the LGBTQ community by spanning centuries of history, across the globe. The Desire, Love, Identity exhibit is open till mid-October and is totally FREE.
- Free Talks & Tours
The museum hosts over a dozen FREE walking tours and talks every day, from Ancient Iraq to the World of Money and everything in between. Tuesday-Friday there are free lunchtime talks beginning at 1:15PM; guided tours range from 20-45 minutes.
- Accessible In 10 Languages
For a mere £6 you can rent an audio guide to explore the museum alongside expert commentary in your own language. Audio guides are available in English, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese and Mandarin.
Now you’ve got no excuse not to go!
