Underbelly Festival Southbank
Underbelly Festival Southbank is back and better than ever! In honour of their 10 year anniversary, this year promises to be their biggest event yet with over 140 shows on offer!
Here’s how you can make the most of Underbelly all summer long:
- Underbelly brings world class performances in live circus, comedy, cabaret and family shows.
- Most shows are under £20 and around 1 hour.
- The event is FREE TO ENTER, so anyone can enjoy the plethora of international street food, drinks and an amazing outdoor atmosphere.
When & Where to Go
The festivities run April 6th till September 30th, giving you nearly six months to get in on the action!
The festival is located on the Southbank between Southbank Centre, Jubilee Gardens and the London Eye. The nearest tube stations are Waterloo and Embankment.
The exact location is Belvedere Road Coach Park, SE1 8XX.
Here’s what I’m planning to check out this year:
Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams is definitely on my list. The show interweaves heart-palpitating stunts with the story of two young Ethiopian boys, all to the rhythm of vibrant Ethiopian music and dance.
Luisa Omielan says everything we’re thinking, but know we shouldn’t say. From the looks of her YouTube videos, current events and politics have never been so real or hilarious.
I know it’s suppose to be for kids but, who doesn’t want to see The Amazing Bubble Man? I’ll be there. Plus, tickets are only 10 quid!
Cabaret & Variety
So many unique shows to choose from like Aurora Galore and the Glamorous Weirdos, The Art of Drag and Pride in London – Rising Stars — all under £20! Plus a newbie to Underbelly, Massaoke Club La La, a one night only party of dancing, singing, glitter canyons and general foolery.
If you know you’re planning to see more than three shows, check out their site for special offers and discounts!
